Commodity Watch: Aluminium futures up on increased participation

New Delhi: Aluminium prices rose nearly 0.24 per cent to Rs 318.20 per kg in futures trade amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in March increased by 75 paise in 25 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.

Zinc futures climb on higher bets

Zinc prices rose Rs 2 to Rs 334.60 per kg in futures trade as traders stayed on the sidelines amid a lack of fresh triggers. Zinc contracts for March delivery edged up 0.6 per cent in a turnover of 428 lots. Traders attributed the slight rise in zinc futures to limited buying at lower levels.

Copper futures up on spot demand

Copper futures rose by 60 paise to Rs 1,276 per kg on Thursday due to higher spot demand. Copper contracts for March delivery grew 0.05 per cent in a turnover of 959 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
